ASHTANGA YOGA
THE YOGA OF THE BREATH
“Following the rhythm of the breath synchronized with the movements,
you can reach the calm of mind and inner silence”
“The breath unites body, mind and spirit”
“The breath is the key”
Ashtanga Yoga is an ancient method characterized by a particular order in the sequence of positions whose execution is synchronized with the breath. Prolonged deep breathing quiets and concentrate the mind. When breath and movement flow in the same rhythm, we transcend the ordinary consciousness and the practice of Ashtanga yoga becomes a meditation in motion.
The Riccione’s Yogashala aims to promote and disseminate the practice of Ashtanga yoga in the traditional method of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, and in particular the one taught by Lino Miele.
The instructors at Ashtanga Yoga Riccione are recognized and/or certified by Lino Miele and still practice and study with him regularly.
“If the breath feeds action, and action feeds posture, each movement becomes gentle, precise and perfectly stable.
According to the teachings of Sri T. Krishnamanacharya and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the breath is the way. Breathing is for us the vital act and it’s fundamental for excellence and contains the essence of divine exhalation, a movement towards God and the inspiration is an inspiration from God.”
